Privacy Policy

Athenian Tech uses Google Analytics to understand how this website is used, and it sets cookies to do so. That is the only tracking here: there is no advertising, no ad network and no social media pixel on any page. Beyond it, the only personal information we hold is what you choose to send us.

Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics, which places cookies on your device and uses them to recognize a returning browser. It tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, roughly where in the world they are, and what kind of device and browser they used. We use that to decide what to publish next and to find pages that are broken or ignored.

We do not use it to identify you personally, and we never link it to anything you send us through the contact form or the newsletter. Google processes this information on our behalf as our analytics provider, and their own privacy terms govern what they do with it.

Analytics cookies are optional. We ask before we set them, and you can decline — the site works exactly the same either way. You can also change your mind at any time by clearing this site’s cookies in your browser, or block them outright in your browser’s settings.

What This Site Collects Automatically

Nothing else. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs — your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time — which are used only to deliver the site and to protect it from attack and abuse.

What You Send Us

  • The contact form. It does not transmit anything to us when you fill it in. It opens a message in your own email application, already addressed and written, and it reaches us only when you press send yourself. We then hold whatever you included — typically your name, email address, organization and message.
  • The newsletter signup. This works the same way, and we hold the email address you send from so we can send you each issue.
  • Reports and newsletters are free to download. There is no registration, no form and no email required to read any of them.

How We Use It

To answer you, to send you the newsletter if you asked for it, and to keep a record of our correspondence. That is all. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Who Else Sees It

Our hosting provider, which serves the pages; our email provider, which carries the messages; and Google, which provides the analytics described above. No one else. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with data brokers, advertisers or any other third party, except where we are required to by law.

How Long We Keep It

Correspondence is kept for as long as we need it to answer you and to keep a record of our dealings with you, and no longer. If you have subscribed to the newsletter, we keep your address until you ask us to stop. Analytics information is held for the retention period set on our Google Analytics account and is deleted after that.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, or to object to our use of it. Email us at support@atheniantech.com and we will act on it. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by replying to any issue.

Changes to This Policy

If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page.
